I know I keep commenting, but I can't help myself. LoL I do want to say that the acting in this episode is superb on all counts. It just feels pointless because the story is so, so dumb.

Also, girl, you ripped that Civil War photo in half! That was a historical artifact!

I really disliked this episode when I first saw it. I think at the time, I was very upset that the show would suggest that anyone was Mulder's soulmate but Scully! LoL But, watching it again now, it's also not a good episode. The timeline doesn't make sense either. How can Cancerman be a Gestapo officer in the WWII timeline when we know he was already a government agent in 1953? Granted, I know that there is some question about the actual timing of Cancerman's life, but the 1953 date is the first canonical one we have, and a later episode where more information comes from is highly speculative. That would mean he had to have been born before WWII, so his soul can't possibly have been in two places at the same time, right? Also, Mulder, you were a Confederate soldier? Gross.

Their souls are mated forever apparently. Weird how we never ever hear about Melissa again.
