I think I'm beginning to see why this show was cancelled. it tries to be too many things at once with no regards for any internal consistency. the tone and the theme shifts are all over the place. I actually liked the beginning of the show where it was more or less a crime drama show that is focused on serial/ritualistic killers that were influenced by millenial apocalyptic prophecies. I think the true downfall actually started when they started introducing paranormal aspects into the show. I mean sure Frank's "gift" was paranormal from the get go, but earlier episodes made it ambigious as to whether those visions were just Frank visualizing the crimes due to his extensive knowledge and experience in criminal psychology or a god-given gift itself. as the show progressed though what we ended up with was an edgier, more mature version of X-Files, which I think is quite a shame because the show actually started of quite promising. I believe it just shows that Millennium didn't quite had the impact they hoped for and they began to copy some things that made X-Files such a hit in the first place and just tried to add some twists to it. it fails sadly though...
